In-the-bag: Our Story |
|||||||||
Ros Wyatt moved to the US five years ago. Leaving behind in the UK, Plum, a company she started that made accessories with vintage fabric. Plum's designs were sold in the Conran Shop, The Cross and numerous other shops in England and were featured in many publications, including Country Living and Homes and Gardens. Binni Hackett moved to the US from England twenty years ago and started a childrens clothing company in Washington DC. Her line was sold successfully in boutiques all over America. In 2001, they combined forces. As sisters-in-law and both designers with a similar eye for style, it seemed inevitable that they should collaborate. in-the-bag was born! They began with making vintage design knitting bags, spotting a gap in the market. Ros and Binni created a bag that was gorgeous to look at, wonderful to touch and practical to use. Immediately, they gained a huge following of customers who really appreciated the natural materials they used and who loved their combination of beautiful designs and textures. Requests started rolling in and now in-the-bag has expanded its line to include tote bags, shoppers, messenger bags and now diaper bags. With more ideas being hatched almost daily, they continue to grow with the demand... Ros lives in Berkeley, California with her husband James and her three children Jack, Mischa and baby Alfie. Binni lives on the north shore of Boston with her husband Randy and five children, Daisy, Polly, Tristan, Flora and baby Finn. |

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT IN-THE-BAG "I really love my bag! It's wonderful, and made beautifully. I'm wondering if you are planning on adding to the line. Thanks." "I received my Herringbone bag on Friday at work. This was my hope, but certainly not my expectation (speedy delivery!)... How perfect to depart from one of the longest weeks of work in the midst a period of the longest months of work with my lovely non-work bag in tow. It's wonderful! Thank you!" |
